About the event

Following the successful first run of this workshop, and in response to positive feedback from participants, the Library's Teaching and Learning Support Office is pleased to offer it again: Making Sense of Evidence: Evidence Synthesis for Literature Reviews.

This workshop includes a series of lectures and trainings exploring each of the essential steps in the evidence synthesis process.

Target Audience: This is intended for graduate students (MA, PhD), early career researchers, and faculty members. It is encouraged that participants attend ALL the workshop dates. 

Learning Outcomes: 

  • At the end of the masterclass, the learners are expected to: 

  • To understand the basics of evidence synthesis in conducting a literature review; 

  • To recognize the role of librarians and information professionals in conducting a sound evidence synthesis;

  • To familiarize oneself with the essential steps in conducting evidence synthesis; 

  • To learn various reporting guidelines and protocols in synthesizing research evidence; 

  • To demonstrate the ability in conducting an evidence synthesis for a research study.

  • 17 April 2025 / 4:00pm - 6:00pm: Retrieval

  • 22 April 2025  / 4:00pm - 6:00pm: Appraisal

  • 24 April 2025  / 4:00pm - 6:00pm: Data Synthesis

  • 29 April 2025  / 4:00pm - 6:00pm: Write-up
