About the event

In the Library's continuous effort to support academic, research, and digital scholarship at NU, the Teaching and Learning Support Office is offering a workshop entitled Making Sense of Evidence: Evidence Synthesis for Literature Reviews. This workshop includes a series of lectures and training exploring each of the steps in evidence synthesis.

Target Audience

This is intended for graduate students (MA, PhD), early career researchers, and faculty members. 

Learning Outcomes 

At the end of the workshop, the learners are expected to: 

  1. To understand the basics of evidence synthesis in conducting a literature review; 

  2. To recognize the role of librarians and information professionals in conducting a sound evidence synthesis;

  3. To familiarize oneself with the essential steps in conducting evidence synthesis; 

  4. To learn various reporting guidelines and protocols in synthesizing research evidence; 

  5. To demonstrate the ability in conducting an evidence synthesis for a research study.

  • 4 April | 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM | Room 5E.417 | Data extraction, synthesize, map, or describe the results
