Toward New Transnational/Transimperial Histories of Central Asia

Nazarbayev University will host an international conference on August 19-22, 2025, bringing together scholars to explore new approaches to the history of Central Asia. The event will feature academic presentations and roundtable discussions on regional archives, local voices, and the role of historians in shaping civil society. Participants will examine Central Asia’s past through fresh perspectives, innovative methods, and overlooked sources.
