About the event

Dear NU Community,

The NU Korean Studies Centre invites you to the Korean Studies Seminar Series. The sixth session of the series will be featured with Dr. Ji-hyung Park from Soongsil University. Dr. Park will lecture on the " Korean Civil Service Recruitment System: Status and Prospects." This lecture will touch on the role of bureaucratic competence in development models and offer a critical understanding of human resource management at the governmental level.

Abstract: The purpose of Korea's civil service recruitment is to fairly select talented individuals from the general public based on merit. Anyone is eligible to apply for the examination, and candidates compete under the same conditions to be selected as civil servants. The procedures and methods of Korea's civil service exams have been continuously improved over time. The objective of this lecture is to introduce the current status of Korea's civil service examinations and to discuss the future directions for changes in the system.
