History Alumni Talk: Career in PR and Journalism

The Department of History, Philosophy and Religious Studies is organizing Alumni Talk with one of our notable graduates. 

Gailya Khassenkhanova has more than six years of professional experience in the media field. She graduated with a degree in History from Nazarbayev University in 2017. Later, she continued her academic journey at Central European University, studying Comparative History. Having worked on national television channels and in major local newspapers, Galiya developed a diverse portfolio of projects. She is the author and editor of numerous news articles about culture, politics, economics, energy issues, and diplomacy. At the moment, Galiya works as a Digital Producer at the Euronews regional office in Astana. Galiya will reflect on her academic experience at NU and how majoring in history helped her build a successful career in a field where writing skills and context analysis are invaluable professional assets.
