Dear Nazarbayev University Community,
As part of the course ‘Approaches to Global Development’, the Department of Sociology and
Anthropology cordially invites you to attend the guest lecture: “Feminism with a Qazaq Twist: Gender,
Identity, and Activism in the Steppe”.
Speaker: Aigerim Kussaiynkyzy, Human Rights Trainer and Gender Equality Expert based in Kazakhstan.
About the speaker: Aigerim Kussaiynkyzy is a human rights trainer and gender equality expert based in
Kazakhstan. She has worked extensively on issues related to women’s political participation, domestic
violence prevention, and gender-sensitive media. Aigerim has consulted for UN agencies and civil society
initiatives across Central Asia and is currently engaged in multiple projects promoting inclusive policy
and feminist advocacy in the region.
