About the event
Join us for an insightful guest lecture by Lena Sheveleva from Cardiff Business School, who will present her research on the role of technical barriers to trade (TBTs) in shaping China’s import dynamics following its accession to the World Trade Organization.
The lecture will explore how non-tariff measures, particularly TBTs, have been used across different product groups and trade regimes, and their impact on import quantities and prices. The findings offer valuable insights into whether such regulations serve as tools for economic upgrading or hidden protectionism.
This session will be of interest to students and faculty in economics, public policy, and international trade.
