In the first part of the concert, the audience will hear Johan de Meij’s symphony «The Lord of the Rings», composed based on the novel The Lord of the Rings. It will be performed in Kazakhstan for the very first time. In the second part, the program will feature the most beloved and iconic soundtracks from the film «The Lord of the Rings», written by acclaimed composer Howard Shore.

The State String Gaziza Zhubanova Quartet continues its series of anniversary concerts marking the 30th anniversary of the ensemble’s artistic activity. The concert Romantic Accent brings together the artistic worlds of Europe and Kazakhstan. The programme features masterpieces by Romantic composers Robert Schumann and Anton Webern, as well as the premiere of a Romantic work by contemporary German composer David Braid, Five Kazakh Impressions, written on special commission for the State String Gaziza Zhubanova Quartet.
