Culture & Society Lecture Series - Kazakhs in Mongolia by Amalie Moen Eidet

The Sociology and Anthropology Department invites the Nazarbayev University community to a guest lecture by Amalie Moen Eidet, a second-year graduate student in the Eurasian Studies Program.

Amalie traveled to Ölgii in western Mongolia, staying with a Kazakh family and observing how Kazakh and Mongolian traditions coexist in daily life. She participated in local customs, including Ramadan Iftar, and reflected on similarities and differences between Kazakh communities in Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
