About the event
The Chemistry Seminar at NU will start with the invited research lecture “Nano-emulsions as precursors for biomedical nanocarriers“ by our guest speaker by Dr Carlos Rodríguez Abreu at the Scientific Researcher Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia & CIBER-BBN, ISCIII, Barcelona, Spain.
Biography: Carlos Rodríguez-Abreu is the leader of the Colloid and Interface Chemistry group at the Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC), Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), also affiliated to the Networking Biomedical Research Center (CIBER). He is also director of the Nanostructured liquid characterization unit at NANBIOSIS, a Spanish ICTS (Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure). He is interested in nanostructured soft materials such as surfactants, polymers, micelles, gels, liquid crystals, foams, microemulsions, emulsions and nano-emulsions that can find direct applications or be used as templates, structure directing agents or nanoreactors for the synthesis of nanoparticles, nanocomposites or nanoporous solids.
