About the event
A new musical and scenic version of Mukan Tulebayev’s legendary opera Birzhan-Sara will be staged at the Astana Opera House. Directed by Askhat Mayemirov, with consulting director Mikhail Pandzhavidze and conductor Abzal Mukhitdin, the production offers a fresh reading of the Kazakh classic, enriched with 3D technology, vivid costumes, video installations by Italian designer Sergio Metalli, and the artistry of the orchestra, chorus, ballet, and soloists.
Performed in Kazakh (with Russian and English subtitles).
Running time: 3 hours (with one interval).
Note: live animals are featured in the performance.
