About the event

Dr. Abhishek Bhati, Fulbright Scholar and Associate Professor of Political Science at Bowling Green State University, will discuss how civil society organizations (CSOs) worldwide are adopting AI tools like ChatGPT to address social challenges. Drawing on research from NGOs in India and the U.S., the talk will explore how AI can help reduce poverty, expand access to education, and promote inclusive development, while also examining challenges such as algorithmic bias, data privacy, capacity constraints, and unequal access between large and small organizations. The session aims to provide practical insights for NGOs and policymakers in Kazakhstan on how to leverage AI responsibly to strengthen mission-driven work. This event is open to all and welcomes anyone interested in the intersection of AI, civil society, and social impact.
