About the event
The Gender, Work and Organization (GWO) Conference 2026 continues the tradition of one of the leading international forums dedicated to research and discussion on gender relations in the world of work and organizations. Building on the legacy of the Gender, Work and Organization journal, established in 1994, the conference brings together scholars, artists, and practitioners to examine historical and contemporary challenges in gender studies, labor, and organizational practices.
The 2026 theme, “Voices at the Margins,” explores how knowledge, experiences, and perspectives emerging from marginalized communities can reshape dominant narratives about work, care, and social organization. By highlighting ideas from diverse cultural, social, and economic contexts, the conference aims to foster dialogue on epistemic justice, feminist solidarity, and new ways of understanding work and belonging in a changing world.
