About the event
The Nazarbayev University Library with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Association of University Libraries in the Republic of Kazakhstan, cordially invites library and information professionals, researchers, and practitioners, as well as students currently pursuing or who have recently graduated from a Library and Information Science (LIS) program to the 14th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC 2025). Representatives from medical, special, school, and public libraries are also welcome to attend.
Conference date and venue: 27-28 May, 2025 Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan
Focusing on building strong dialogues and collaborations, this year’s conference encourages attendees to celebrate libraries engaging in meaningful and impactful dialogues within and across societies highlighting its integral role in various contexts. The conference suggests a dynamic [self] reflection about libraries’ roles, their growing reach, and how they influence education, research, and society from different perspectives.
With the theme Library as a Dialogue Hub: Bridging communities through conversations, the Program Committee seek paper and poster submissions on the following topics:
Building collaborative libraries portfolio
Optimizing workflows for impact
Radiating LIS communication
Sharing success stories and best practices in academic libraries
Strengthening information skills for life, information organization and management
Fulfilling strategic planning and management in academic libraries
Research practice in libraries

The 2025 EAL Conference is a forum to share experiences and practical solutions, discuss professional topics, and support each other. It would be our great honor for you to join us at this truly unique gathering where we can build a better future for library professionals.
Working languages at the conference are Kazakh, Russian, and English.
