Nazarbayev University’s Research Centre for Entrepreneurship (NURCE) will host the international conference “Voices at the Margins: Rethinking Gender, Labor, and Belonging” on 15-17 November 2025 in collaboration with the Gender, Work & Organization Journal.

The event, organized as part of Professor Waqar Ahmad’s initiative to mark NU’s 15th Anniversary and supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will explore gender, work, belonging, and knowledge production from the margins - with a special focus on the Global South and Central Asia.

Call for Papers: Submit abstracts (max. 500 words) and a short bio (max. 100 words) to shumaila.yousafzai@nu.edu.kz by 20 October 2025. Limited travel bursaries are available (apply by 15 October).

Join scholars, artists, and practitioners in Astana to rethink gender, labor, and belonging and to amplify voices from the margins.
