About the event

We invite you to attend a guest lecture by Anna Kochanova (Cardiff Business School) on the impact of mobile technologies on tax collection and firm formalization in developing economies.

The study examines the staggered expansion of 3G and 4G mobile networks alongside administrative tax data from Uganda. The findings show a significant increase in the number of tax-paying firms and an expansion of the tax base driven by mobile technology adoption. However, there is no evidence of improved overall performance among already existing formal firms.

This guest lecture is open to all NU community members.
