Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On December 16, Kazakhstan marks a historic milestone – Independence Day. On this day in 1991, the Law on Independence and State Sovereignty was adopted, officially declaring Kazakhstan a sovereign nation.

Independence is a fundamental value of our nation and a symbol of freedom. This historic decision gave our people the ability to determine their own destiny and laid the foundation for Kazakhstan’s development. Since then, the country has made significant progress in political, economic, cultural, and scientific spheres, becoming a recognized member of the international community.
