About the Speaker

Dr. Juan Ignacio Guzmán

Civil Industrial Engineer specialized in Mining

Ph.D. in Mineral Economics, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile

Founder & General Manager, GEM Mining Consulting

With over 20 years of international experience, Dr. Guzmán has led more than 450 mining studies across 25+ commodities, including copper, gold, lithium, and oil. He has taught at top universities including Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, University of Chile, and University of Los Andes, and currently teaches in the ESG program for mining at Duke Education Corporation. He is also the author of two books and over 20 scientific publications.
